Trench Warfare
Trench Warfare was the strategy that most of the countries/nations used to fight in World War 1. Trench Warfare was when they people dug bunkers in the ground and used wood and sandbags to support the structure. The army would stay in the trenches and kill the enemy rushing them across the field. Most of the countries used this strategy until the machine gun was invented. This made it a lot harder for other countries to flank that other trench. The Allies created the tank so they can get across the field and attack the bunker without being harmed by the machine gun. Many of the soldiers suffered from trench foot from being in their boots to long in the trenches. Sometimes the water got into the trenches and when the soldiers feet are in the boots and exposed to water for a long time that is what causes trench foot.
